A Stunning Autumn Wedding in the Colorado Mountains

This October, we had the privilege of designing the florals for a wedding nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains at the Westin Riverfront Resort in Avon, Colorado. The landscape, with its crisp mountain air and vibrant autumn foliage, provided the perfect backdrop for a celebration where summer gently met fall.

Our color palette was a playful blend of peach, orange, dusty pink, and apricot, with subtle hints of pale blue, creating a seamless transition from the warmth of summer to the cozy embrace of fall. The bride and groom wanted a floral design that captured this delicate balance, and we achieved it through the use of Colorado-grown dahlias, whose lush blooms were the stars of the show.

For the ceremony, we designed an asymmetrical pillar style arch that framed the couple beautifully, evoking the essence of wild meadows and unstructured elegance. Along the aisle, meadow-like ground arrangements created an ethereal, natural feel that was rich in texture, with interesting foliages and blooms adding depth to the design.

The escort display was a true standout, custom-made and featuring a collection of colored glass bud vases filled with dancing blooms and whimsical textures, inviting guests to find their seats in style. The bar, dressed in an overflowing floral design, was highlighted by a monogram of the newlyweds’ initials, made entirely of flowers—a personalized touch that added sophistication to the space.

Inside the reception space, we created a variety of centerpiece designs that added layers of visual interest. Elevated arrangements sat atop scalloped glass vases, drawing the eye upwards and giving the room dimension. Lush compote centerpieces and pin-frog designs adorned other tables, ensuring that every corner of the space was filled with fresh blooms. The head table featured a meadow-inspired floral runner that cascaded down the length of the table, framed by a stunning hanging installation bursting with autumnal foliages and fresh flowers. Suspended within the installation were rattan chandeliers, blending bohemian charm with classic elegance.

The tables were dressed in warm candlelight, adding a romantic glow, while chic place settings of mixed-colored glassware, floral-printed napkins, and rattan chargers brought a sense of eclectic sophistication to the evening.

After the ceremony concluded, we moved the aisle arrangements to line the stage front, creating a lush, garden-like feel as guests gathered to dance. The broken arch design from the ceremony was placed behind the cake table, providing a dramatic, floral-draped backdrop that made the cake cutting moment truly magical.

To tie it all together, the dance floor featured a custom vinyl print of floral designs that matched the couple’s wedding invitations and dinner menus, adding a unique, personal touch to every element of the evening.

This wedding was a perfect reflection of the season—a blend of the warmth of summer and the richness of fall—and we were so honored to bring the couple's vision to life with flowers.
