A White Wedding to Remember

Billy Idol was truly on to something.

White and green have long reigned as one of the most iconic and enduring wedding color palettes. And for good reason: it’s a vision of timeless elegance. Yet, with a palette so classic, the real artistry lies in crafting floral designs that feel distinctive and deeply personal—tailored to reflect each couple’s unique love story. No two stories are alike, so why should your wedding flowers be?

When Crystal and Derek shared their vision for their May wedding, they envisioned a white and green palette that was “spring, romantic, and delicate.” These three words became our guiding inspiration, leading us to create a floral narrative that was uniquely theirs.

For Crystal’s bridal bouquet, her heart was set on peonies. While May in Colorado is typically early for locally grown peonies, we sourced stunning blooms from warmer regions to fulfill her request. We complemented the peonies with locally grown ranunculus, single-petal stock, sweet peas, garden roses, and touches of spirea for a sense of movement and texture. To maintain the light and romantic aesthetic, we skipped traditional foliage, allowing the green hues to come from the flower stems themselves. The result? A fragrant spring bouquet brimming with understated elegance.

One of the most enchanting elements of Crystal and Derek’s celebration was the reception design. They chose textured floral runners to adorn every guest table, a choice that transformed the space into an intimate garden oasis. While floral runners are often reserved for head tables due to their premium cost, this couple’s decision to prioritize them for all tables created a cohesive sense of luxury.

We designed the runners to echo the bouquet’s delicate charm, avoiding heavy or oversized focal blooms. Instead, we opted for petite focal flowers like locally grown ranunculus and anemones. Dancing stems of sweet peas and spirea added airy movement, while single-petal stock and Majolica spray roses provided soft coverage. The dark green camellia foliage brought depth and contrast to the crisp white blooms, grounding the design with a touch of spring’s natural beauty.

To complete the tablescapes, we added pale grey pillar candles, ornate dinner menus, and a sprinkle of fresh blueberries. The blueberries, a playful and unexpected touch, perfectly echoed the dark centers of the anemones, tying every element together with quiet sophistication.

If you’re considering a white and green palette for your wedding, don’t shy away from making it your own. Collaborate with your florist to highlight blooms that are in season for your wedding date, and embrace thoughtful details that infuse your celebration with personality. Classic doesn’t have to mean conventional—let your imagination take the lead in crafting a day that feels uniquely yours.
