Mountain Romance: A Floral Love Story in the Heart of Colorado

When a bride’s love for flowers becomes the guiding star of her wedding day, the result is nothing short of enchanting. Such was the case for this summer wedding, where a vision of romantic blooms and playful textures merged seamlessly with the breathtaking beauty of the Colorado mountains.

Our bride dreamed of a floral design that evoked the charm of a European garden while celebrating the untamed spirit of the Rockies. The result? A story told through flowers, where every petal, branch, and bloom spoke of love, artistry, and place. One piece of advice we often share with couples is to embrace cohesion without demanding uniformity. Let each design move and evolve naturally. This approach imbues every corner of your day with intention and delight, creating an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.

Bridal Party Blooms: Delicate Elegance with Modern Flair

For our bride and her maids, we curated a fresh, modern aesthetic by designing bouquets with single-variety blooms. Each bridesmaid carried a bouquet highlighting a different flower, creating a harmonious yet distinctive look. The bride’s bouquet was a true showstopper: ruffled lisianthus blooms, locally grown on a Colorado flower farm. These delicate flowers brought a sense of refinement and romance, complementing the mismatched bridesmaid gowns and the soft, flowing lines of the bride’s dress.

The result was a vision of understated elegance, where petite and purposeful bouquets underscored the beauty of the moment.

A Ceremony to Remember: Nature as the Muse

The ceremony design drew inspiration from a landscaped garden, framed by dappled sunlight filtering through the courtyard at The Surf Hotel. Lush arrangements of hydrangeas, dahlias, roses, and native grasses created pockets of texture and color, accented by chartreuse smokebush foliage for a touch of vibrancy.

The aisle was a nod to Colorado’s late-summer landscape, lined with a tapestry of seasonal textures: sea oats, feathertop grasses, apache plume branches, and dried pennycress. Each element paid homage to the state’s natural beauty, creating a sensory experience that felt organic yet refined.

Reception Splendor: Romantic Details with a Whimsical Twist

In the reception space, every table was a celebration of texture and beauty. A lush floral runner adorned the head table, while garden-inspired centerpieces and airy grass designs graced the guest tables. To add warmth, clusters of votive candles flickered across the tablescape, their glow enhancing the romance of the evening.

Whimsical cosmos flowers peeked playfully from the arrangements, adding an unexpected charm. At each place setting, a single lisianthus bud was delicately placed as a sweet gesture for guests—a thoughtful detail that elevated the entire experience.

A Symphony of Design

Each floral element—from the bridal bouquet to the ceremony arrangements to the reception centerpieces—had its own unique charm. Yet together, they created a harmonious symphony of design, transforming the space into an unforgettable celebration of love.

For this couple, flowers weren’t just a decorative element; they were a storyteller, weaving moments of joy and beauty into every part of their day. And isn’t that what every wedding deserves—a little bit of magic, one bloom at a time?
